2019 Ford F-150
As one of the best full-size pickup trucks on the market, the 2019 Ford F-150 features a comfortable and spacious interior. With class-leading towing and hauling capacities, this vehicle has six available engine options. Find out what else you can expect from this powerful vehicle.
Trim Levels
The 2019 Ford F-150 comes in seven trims: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Limited, and Raptor. When looking for a trim, you must consider which cab style and bed length you want. When it comes to cab style, you can choose a regular cab, SuperCab, and SuperCrew. The regular cab seats up to three people, while the SuperCab and SuperCrew fits up to six people. The bed for the pickup truck comes in 5.5-, 6.5-, and 8-foot lengths. You can equip the bed with loading ramps and movable tie-downs, both of which help you load and secure cargo.
The XL and XLT trims are the only two trims that come with all three cab styles and all three bed lengths. If you're looking for a traditional work truck, consider the XL or XLT trims, but if you want a more luxurious ride, the King Ranch, Platinum, or Limited trims work best. For off-roading, consider the Raptor.
Engine
As mentioned, the F-150 comes with a half-dozen engine options. The base V-6 engine works well for daily driving, while the V-8, turbodiesel, and three turbocharged V-6 engines are capable of towing and hauling. The XL and XLT trims are available with the V-8 or 325-horsepower EcoBoost V-6 engine, while the Lariat trim has the latter V-6 engine option. The King Ranch comes with a 395-horsepower V-8, and the Limited trim features a 450-horsepower turbocharged V-6 engine. The Raptor comes with off-road capabilities, including four-wheel drive and an off-road racing suspension.
Performance
When compared to other vehicles in its class, the 2019 F-150 attains decent fuel economy. With the bases V-6 engine, it earns an estimated 19 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. In addition, when properly equipped, the pickup truck can haul nearly 3,300 pounds and tow 13,200 pounds.
Interior
The XL trim doesn't come with many amenities, but it does include a voice-activated SYNC infotainment system and power windows and locks. The XLT trim comes with the SYNC 3 infotainment system with a Wi-Fi hotspot along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The Lariat trim comes with dual-zone automatic climate control and leather upholstery. The King Ranch trim has a voice-activated touch-screen navigation system, while the Platinum adds wood trim features.
Safety Features
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) awarded the 2019 F-150 with a perfect five-out-of-five-star overall crash test rating. In addition, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the vehicle the highest rating in five crash tests as well as front crash prevention technology.
For safety features, the F-150 has two full sets of LATCH connectors. It comes standard with automatic high beams, a rearview camera, and pedestrian detection. Available options include rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, and rear cross traffic alert.
