2020 Ford Escape SE Sport HybridThe crossover SUV market is full of choices. Finding the right vehicle can be a daunting task. Well, here’s a look at some of the best features on the 2020 Ford Escape SE Sport Hybrid, an SUV designed to keep up with your life.

Power

The SE Sport Hybrid is powered by a 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle inline 4-cylinder engine with electronically controlled, continuously variable transmission (eCVT), and an 88 kW electric motor.

There is also a plug-in hybrid version. Both the hybrid and plug-in hybrid feature a liquid-cooled, lithium-ion battery stored under the vehicle, preserving cabin space, unlike other hybrid vehicles.

The Escape also comes with All-Wheel Drive Disconnect, where the rear driveline is disconnected when the system determines all-wheel drive isn’t needed. The result is a front-wheel driven vehicle with reduced drag and improved efficiency.

Performance

The Escape Sport Hybrid now offers five selectable drive modes. Choose Normal for your every day driving. Opt for Sport when you want performance feel. Select Eco for those long road trips. There’s a Slippery mode for when the road gets wet. There’s also a Deep Snow/Sand mode for when traction is most difficult.

Both the hybrid and the plug-in hybrid can tow up to 1,500 pounds. You can haul the jet skis up to the lake house, or the snowmobiles up to the ski lodge.

Technology

The Escape SE Sport Hybrid can be equipped with Ford’s Sync3 technology package. With Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, you can access all your devices on the touchscreen display, or hands-free with the enhanced voice recognition.

FordPass Connect is also available. Download the app and access features like Remote Start, Remote Lock/Unlock, vehicle location, and much more. It can also turn your SE Sport Hybrid into a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot through AT&T. You can connect up to 10 devices at once with a range of up to 50 feet.

Driver Assist Features

Every Ford Escape SE Sport Hybrid comes standard with Ford Co-Pilot360, a suite of driver-assist technologies designed to keep you safer on the road.

A Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking system uses advanced radar and camera technology to monitor the traffic ahead, alerting you to potential hazards. It can even apply the brakes should you fail to react.

Ford’s BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) uses the same technology to detect a vehicle in your blind spot. When making a lane-changing maneuver, the system will alert you when another vehicle is in your blind spot.

An Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go is also part of the suite. This system will automatically adjust your speed based on the traffic ahead, even to a complete stop. When the way ahead clears, the system will return your vehicle to the preset speed.

It also has a Lane Keeping System designed to monitor your vehicle within marked lanes. When it detects a drift, it will alert you with visual and audio cues.
